Weedon PSC in JustGiving top 5% of charity fundraisers

Weedon PSC of Hednesford, Staffordshire, has received notification from JustGiving, the online charitable donation site, congratulating them on being in the site’s top 5% of fundraisers.

Weedon PSC, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of Retail Ready Packaging (RRP) and Point of Sale (POS) display units, raised nearly £6000 for charity last year through sponsorship of their successful attempt at the Three Peaks Challenge. A team of staff and directors completed the challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and traveling between the three peaks, sleeping in a minibus, all within a 24-hour period – 13 hours’ walking plus 11 hours’ driving.

The money they raised went to support five charities: The Alzheimer’s Society, MIND, My New Hair, Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry and educational projects in Nepal.

The Weedon Group plans to continue its fundraising activities this year, tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 20 August. This will involve climbing the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in under 12 hours. The route is 24 miles long and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent. All donations to JustGiving in sponsorship of the attempt will be gratefully received. This year the Weedon Group will be supporting Cancer Research, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Stroke Association.

Sharing the challenge was a profitable team-building exercise for us but, more importantly, we were delighted to have been so well supported in sponsorship that we could give to these charities which do such great work. We have set ourselves quite a target to beat this year!”
